                                                                                       With 310,000 people, Placer County is one of the fastest growing counties within California.  Located in the Sierra Nevada, and known as Gold Country, Placer County is 100 miles northeast of San Francisco, and 20 miles west of Reno.   Placer County stretches from the suburbs of Sacramento to Lake Tahoe and the Nevada border.   The county seat of Placer county is Auburn.
