  Carnegie Library in Lincoln

Lincoln, California rests at the base of the Sierra foothills.  With just over 34,000 people, Lincoln is quickly on its way to becoming a larger city within Placer Valley.  It is neighbors with Roseville, Rocklin, and Newcastle.  As of 2002 Lincoln has added many new buildings, shopping areas, and housing communities.  A city with an Art & Culture Foundation; an active Volunteer Center; community events; shopping; recreation; good schools; a new library in the works; private country club, and championship golf courses; a regional airport and more, Lincoln has a lot to offer!

In 2006, Lincoln was bestowed the coveted All-America Cities Award given by the National Civic League (NCL) - the nation's longest running and most prestigious civic recognition program.  Downtown Lincoln is the heart of the town both in history and in today's contemporary shopping.  The railroad also stopped in Lincoln back in the mid-1800's.  The biggest discovery was clay.  Clay and terra cotta has been the largest draw to Lincoln.  Today, downtown hosts many different events, including the Farmer's Markets, Fourth of July parade, tree lighting and holiday parade.  There is also Feats of Clay, Lincoln's annual arts festival and competition.  Downtown has any store imaginable, as well as dining options to satisfy anyone.

For those active senior citizens, Lincoln boasts a community called Sun City of Lincoln Hills.  Sun City is a development by the builder Del Webb.  Named the best master planned community of 2000, Sun City has a golf course, eateries, fitness centers, spas, pools, crafts, fishing, game rooms, and much more.  Sun City is on the public bus route and is quite close to the Lake Tahoe/Reno border for many more outdoor activities.

Lincoln is the place to be with beautiful parks, great shopping, dining, schools, and activities for all ages.
