   Located near the Sierra Mountain foothills, in unincorporated El Dorado County, El Dorado Hills is a naturally stunning community with a plethora of activities, and amenities to welcome any visitor or resident.  With over 35,000 people, El Dorado Hills is known as the gateway to El Dorado County.  As the name "El Dorado" translates, this is the place of golden opportunity.   With low crime rates and a high per capita income, El Dorado Hills is a wonderful place to raise a family.  

   El Dorado Hills has two area golf courses.  One is public and the other private.  As you first visit the residential part of El Dorado Hills, you are greeted with a beautiful green, open expanse of the El Dorado Hills Golf Course.  The private course is Serrano County Club Golf course which is located in the gated Serrano community.

   El Dorado Hills is youth-centered with three different school districts servicing the town.  Buckeye Union School District, Rescue Union School District, and El Dorado Union High School District.  The school districts are divided based only upon the power lines that run through the community.  Rescue is north of the power lines, Buckeye is south of the power lines.  One high school, Oak Ridge High School serves all students.  Not only does El Dorado Hills have great schools, but it also has great cultural events.  There are two dance academies, youth performing groups, and a musical theatre.  They all hold wonderful annual performances and have several events showcasing the students.

   El Dorado is spectacular in outdoor recreation.  With elevations ranging from 200 to 18,000 feet, there is no end to outdoor fun.  There is hiking, biking, walking trails, whitewater rafting, camping, fishing, and one million acres of national forest land in El Dorado County.  El Dorado Hills is also only an hour from skiing.  Day trips to wineries area also a bonus to living and visiting El Dorado Hills.  With so much natural beauty, and a planned community of homes, shopping, dining, and entertainment, El Dorado is definitely a place of golden opportunity!
